Luke 22:42 "Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done." is the most important scripture for understanding the hierarchy on Earth and in Heaven!  The main point here is that God knows what he is doing.  As humans we tend to think chain of command, the problem here is that in a human chain of command humans are only in charge of other humans.  God has control of everything in the Universe and this is why Luke 22:42 is so important to understanding why the hierarchy we build up for ourselves and our ego is pointless.

When we put Jesus up on a pedestal and declare that all the decisions he made were his, then we are indicating that we desire the same treatment and want others to listen to us with the same authority.  We want to be apart of the chain of command, however not at the bottom of that chain.  We want desperately to be apart of the main chain that sets us apart and designates us as title worthy.

God knows what he is doing.  This is the most incredible thing about God.  God controls his movement, he controls what he desires to build and he made Jesus.  When Jesus says God not my will but yours be done he declares that the narrow path concerns doing the will of God and few find it.  However many choose to follow the wide path that reflects our own will as being separate and praiseworthy from the rest of all creation.  When we do our own will we are seeking personal glorification separate from the rest of creation.

(Mark 12:44)    I find it alarming that the Christian church will attach Joel Olsteen whom I have no affiliation with concerning his feel good message; yet the Protestants have become more like the Pharisee than the Catholics, since most will seek a higher wage so that their giving will not change their lifestyle. The lifestyle of a Catholic priest is very different from that of a Protestant minister.  The point here is that the Protestants left the Catholic Church, because of one biblical passage.  (Luke 16:13)  The Catholic Church made decisions based on money and Martin Luther pointed that out.

This is very true today of the Protestant church.  It is a business first, and that is the primary reason for its decline in numbers.  It is afraid to preach the truth.  Thus is serves money.

I tell you what if God is nothing, which created everything and is independent from creation, then following Matthew 22:37 would be impossible.  How could you love a God that makes no sense?  A God that creates something that turns into nothing would support a math proof of zero equals one. Thus that God would make no sense and be difficult to explain.  Yes, God can be understood and explained or Matthew 22:37 is impossible.  Those who love money do not want to understand God; they are only concerned about their title in Heaven.  And they are in for a surprise.
